While I was coming to you live from Halibut Bay in Halifax, Nova Scotia—sipping a maritime-influenced local Brut from the Annapolis Valley while checking in on my family—Annabelle tuned in from Pamplona, Spain during a scorching 40°C heatwave. The Drops (Now Fully Allocated) 🔒
Because these allocations were so ultra-limited, we released two distinct Burgundy icons simultaneously to give members across tiers a fighting chance:
1. Domaine Thibault Liger-Belair Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru 2021 (18 Bottles Total)
The 200-Meter Terroir Run: The vines for this bottling span 200-meter rows that cut straight through all three distinct soil layers of the appellation—stony clay-limestone at the top, iron-rich red clay in the middle, and clay-silt at the bottom. This full cross-section creates a complete, rounded cuvée with Vosne-Romanée-like elegance.
40% Whole-Bunch Fermentation: Crafted using 40% whole clusters with lignified, brown stems to impart structural complexity, fine tannin grip, and a vibrant herbal freshness.
Old Vine Energy: Planted originally in 1944 (and partially replanted in 1992), combining deep, historic root depth with youthful vigor.
Oak Maturation: Aged around 20 months in French oak with 60% new oak to allow the true expression of the vineyard to shine.
2. Arnaud Ente Bourgogne Rouge 2018 (3 Bottles Total!)
Unicorn Red Burgundy: Sourced from one of the most legendary, obsessive Pinot Noir producers in the world. This specific bottling blends fruit from both Meursault and Puligny-Montrachet plots.
Obsessive Vineyard Work: Known for maintaining some of the lowest yields in Burgundy to capture pure energy and minerality. Harvested early for vivid acidity, raised with low new oak (15–20%), and bottled without fining or filtration.
The “Is This Real?” Price: When our team locked in this direct allocation, the member pricing was so absurdly low that Annabelle literally messaged me to double-check if the numbers were a typo. Members in our top access tiers recognized the steal immediately and claimed all 3 bottles in seconds.
