â°DROPPING TOMORROW
Louis Latour Château Corton Grancey Grand Cru, Burgundy
This Wednesday, Jan. 17 at 1pm ET weâre releasing four very special lots of one of red Burgundy's benchmarks: the Latour family's Château Corton Grancey Grand Cru (CCG) in three different vintages (2019, 2016, 2015) and formats (750ml, 1.5L, 3L) all in original wood cases (OWCs). These vintages are of unparalleled critical acclaim:
2019: "...tannins frame red-cherry and fresh strawberry flavors in this ripe yet svelte, focused wine. Youthful red-fruit flavors are hedonistic already but this subtly spiced Pinot Noir is perfumed by hints of forest floor and wild herb that should gain depth with time. Itâs best to hold till 2024 at least."Â
96 Points from Wine Enthusiast
2016: "Love the depth of fruit and intensity of this wine. It has dark fruit and floral undertones, as well as meat, which is very captivating. Full body, purity of fruit and nice, powerful tannins. Chewy and powerful. Focused austerity. A wine for the cellar. Try in 2022."Â
99 Points from James Suckling
2015: "Incredibly subtle and complex with dried herbs, spices, meat, leaves and dried fruit. Full-bodied, superfine and polished tannins and a fantastic finish. What a fantastic Grancey!"Â
96 Points from James Suckling
Château Corton Grancey (CCG), built in 1749, was acquired by the Latour family in 1891 when it became their ancestral home. For over two centuries it has also been the name of a special wine: Château Corton Grancey Grand Cru. The wine is vinified by Domaine Latour at its namesake "Cuverie et Caves de Corton Grancey," and reserved only for the winemaking and storage of the domaine's limited release, flagship wines.
CCG, crafted from several famed Corton vineyards, gives a unique insight into the best vintages of the domaine. It is produced only in years when grapes reach optimal ripeness. The wine is a blend of the best barrels from four grand cru sites: Les Bressandes, Les Perrières, Les Grèves and Le Clos du Roi.
Voltaire himself wrote of CCG:
"Your good wine has become a great necessity to me, I give good Beaujolais wines to my guests in Geneva, but I drink your Corton wine in secret."

Looking Back at 2023
Letâs take a jaunt down memory lane. 2023 was a year of growth, partnerships, and unforgettable experiences. Hereâs a quick summary!
đą Community Growth
The heart of our club is, without a doubt, our members. Last year, dozens of wine enthusiasts and collectors joined our budding community. Welcome to all of you! We are truly grateful for and inspired by each new member and referral. Thank you all for fueling our mission and sharing your passion.
đˇ Hundreds of Investment-Grade Wines Released
We're proud of our direct relationships with winemakers, and being able to share our insider access with each of you is what we love most.
Last year we released hundreds of hard-to-find, investment-grade bottles at incredible prices on the dVIN platform.
My personal favourites were:
Château La Gomerie 2018 Saint-Emilion Grand Cru
A highly sought-after cult wine from Saint-Emilion with bottles from top vintages trading at up to 6x their release prices.Château Petrus 2021 Pomerol Magnums
Known as the wine world's unicorn, this was the last vintage in this format â truly special.Château Saint Laurentâs inaugural vintage
The debut from Tony Parker's Château, a limited release of just 3,000 bottles.
đˇ Dozens of New Strategic Partnerships
You probably noticed that Dave and I each spent about half of last year on the road. It was a whirlwind of pitching, networking, winery installations and events. We held seminars, screenings, demos, and tastings. We met with and secured new partnerships with some of the best and brightest in wine and tech, and are more excited than ever to continue building a better, more transparent industry together.
A highlight is our partnership with Grahamâs Port. Together, we released 50 limited edition cases of 1970 & 2020 Vintage Port. Each Grahamâs dVIN Digital Cork comes with incredible rewards like private day trips to Quinta dos Malvedos (closed to the public) in the Douro Valley, allocations to their next vintage release, and tastings at the Grahamâs lodge in Porto.
đ˛ Improved App
In 2023, we tore down and rebuilt our app from scratch.
The improved UI now features chain of custody tracking, rewards and a new way to view your account, membership and allocation tokens. We also updated our digital corks and tasting tokens for a better platform experience.
đĽMemorable Events
My top three picks:
The Bhutan Steering Committee Trip
We spent 2 weeks laying out the groundwork for our upcoming inaugural harvest experience.Castle Party in Burgundy at Château de Vallery
3 enchanting days of blind tasting in vaulted castle cellars, pool parties and fireworks.Art Basel Miami Yacht Party
Our collaboration with Crypto Oracle in Miami was a hit! We sipped rare grower Champagne and welcomed new members and partners to the dVIN family.
