🍾 Champagne Without Rules — Wine Wednesday Recap
Yesterday’s Wine Wednesday with the one and only Garth Hodgdon was pure joy (and maybe a little chaos). We dove deep into Champagne—but without the usual rules and pretension.
Garth, with his years of experience at The French Laundry, Per Se, and as US ambassador for Krug, reminded us that Champagne isn’t just for birthdays, weddings, or “big” moments. In fact, his takeaway was simple, and one I couldn’t agree with more:
✨ You don’t need a reason to open a bottle of Champagne. ✨
Whether it’s a Wednesday morning, a pizza night, or just because you feel like it—Champagne belongs at your table. We laughed about flutes (please stop using them 🙏), talked about grower Champagnes that deserve more attention, and even got into which glasses actually make the wine shine.
The spirit of the session? Champagne is about joy, curiosity, and everyday celebration.

🍷 Upcoming Wine Wednesday – Bhutan’s New Wine Frontier 🌄
As some of you are familiar with The Bhutan Wine Company, we’re excited to have them join us for Wine Wednesday next week. Together we’ll talk about their very first vintage and the bold vision behind planting vineyards at some of the highest elevations in the world.
We’ll also share more about the exclusive trip with Club dVIN and RVIP this September — a once-in-a-lifetime chance to experience Bhutan’s vineyards firsthand.
This is a rare opportunity to hear directly from the team pioneering wine in the Himalayas and to get a glimpse of what’s coming next for Bhutanese wine.

🍷 This Week’s Drop: Castello di Ama’s Icons
This week’s allocation is special: Castello di Ama’s “Vigneto Bellavista” and “Vigneto La Casuccia” — two of Chianti Classico’s most coveted single-vineyard wines from the 2020 vintage.
Both bottlings are benchmarks of high-altitude Sangiovese, crafted with meticulous care in vineyard and cellar. Critics showered them with 96–98 point reviews, praising Bellavista’s energy and precision and Casuccia’s intensity and power.
Bacchus AI calls them blue-chip bottles — the kind you drink, hold, or tokenize with confidence.
Access is limited, and only available to dVIN Club members. These drops don’t last long.
