Unlocking Allegrini La Poja 2018 🦅 Magnums
Blood orange acidity, dual-oak maturation, and direct-to-chateau provenance tracking inside the newly rebuilt Club dVIN ecosystem.
Yesterday’s Wine Wednesday live broadcast was a classic study in tradition versus defiance. While I had to confess to breaking my promise of drinking Annabelle’s wine—instead tuning in from a restaurant with a Chandon Spritz—Annabelle held down the fort from Spain while sipping a Valpolicella Ripasso to perfectly frame our newest library drop.
Our rebuilt platform has now been live for 15 successful days. With the public gates wide open, we are seeing immediate traction inside the ecosystem.
As a reminder, our weekly wine drops now utilize strict, tier-based access windows built directly into the application interface:
Global Insiders: Your 24-hour priority allocation window opened yesterday.
Genesis Members: Your priority allocation window opens in just a few hours.
Collector Tier Subscribers: Your general public access window officially opens tomorrow.
If you missed the livestream, here is your official technical preview of the highly restricted, large-format library allocation dropping this week 👇
The Drop: Allegrini ‘La Poja’ 2018 (Magnums)
To follow up last week’s sold-out Italian Magnum offering, we are staying in Italy with an incredibly rare, highly sought-after bottling. We have exactly 27 single-bottle Magnum lots available for the entire club.
The Valpolicella Outlier: While Valpolicella is historically famous for multi-grape blends, La Poja is a spectacular outlier crafted from 100% Corvina. It represents the fresh style of the region—harvested late in October but entirely avoiding the high-alcohol, raisin-dried character of a classic Amarone.
Taming the Grape: Corvina is an incredibly vigorous variety that growers historically left untamed on sprawling pergola systems to produce high-bulk quantity. In the 1970s, Giovanni Allegrini defied regional norms. He bought a harsh, chalky hilltop plot, cut the yields back, and became the first in the region to train Corvina on a tightly manicured Guyot trellis system.
The Lake Garda Microclimate: The single parcel sits just east of Lake Garda. The massive body of water acts as a crucial temperature mediator, pushing constant moderating breezes across the chalky vines to preserve the wine’s striking, elegant freshness.
The Tasting Profile: This is an intensely aromatic, fresh red wine defined by bright red cherry, dried herbs, and a brilliant, crisp blood orange acidity that gives it magnificent lift.
The Magnum Party Trick: Delivered in 1.5L Magnums, this 2018 library release has a lower oxygen-to-wine ratio through the cork, offering vastly superior structural longevity. It is drinking beautifully right now, but we highly recommend giving it 2 to 3 hours in a decanter to fully stretch its legs.
App Feature Spotlight: Verified Peer-to-Peer Trading
With the new platform up and running, our integrated member marketplace is experiencing fantastic momentum. Right now, our legacy members who have built immense collections over the last six years are actively utilizing the tool.
If you own bottles that are still resting in pristine, temperature-controlled storage at our bonded warehouse, you can list them for sale directly inside the app. It gives members a seamless way to audit their cellars, liquidate allocations they may no longer wish to hold, and secure liquid capital to buy into fresh weekly drops. While the marketplace is currently a buy-and-sell interface, our engineering team is already exploring a direct trading/bottle-swapping feature for a future build.
