Wine Wednesday Recap: Leroy Bourgogne 2017 🍷
Leroy Bourgogne Rouge and Bourgogne Blanc 2017 drops for Club dVIN members today.
Yesterday on Wine Wednesday we talked about Burgundy: one of the most magical and confusing wine regions on earth.
If you joined us live, you heard Rodolfo and I unpack why Burgundy has such a legendary reputation. It’s a region built on tiny vineyard plots, a patchwork of producers, and just two grapes: Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.
Unlike Bordeaux, which is organized around large estates and blends, Burgundy is almost the opposite. Think small parcels of land, often owned by different families, where wines can taste completely different just a few rows apart.
That’s part of the magic. It’s also why Burgundy can feel like detective work for collectors.
Another theme that came up during the livestream was expectations. Burgundy has this reputation for producing “life-changing” wines. But as we talked about, getting that experience often requires knowing the producers and where to look. The right bottle can be unforgettable. The wrong one can leave you wondering what the fuss is about.
Which is why producer matters so much.
And that’s exactly why we’re so excited about this week’s drop.

Today’s Members Drop: Maison Leroy 2017
In just a couple of hours (1pm ET today) Club dVIN members receive access to this week’s allocation:
Maison Leroy Bourgogne Blanc 2017
Maison Leroy Bourgogne Rouge 2017
If you know Burgundy, you know the name Lalou Bize-Leroy.
Former co-owner of Domaine de la Romanée-Conti and one of the most influential figures in Burgundy, Leroy has built a reputation for wines that dramatically overdeliver for their classification. Even her Bourgogne wines can drink like Premier Cru from other producers.
And that’s exactly why these wines are so exciting.
They sit at the Bourgogne level on the label, but when Leroy makes them, expectations are very different.
As always with dVIN drops, provenance is key. These bottles are sourced through a leading négociant connected to Leroy and recorded with verified chain-of-custody on the dVIN protocol.
Because when wines reach this level of demand, knowing exactly where the bottle has been matters.
If you’re a Club dVIN member, keep an eye on your inbox 👀
The Leroy drop goes live today at 1pm ET.
Cheers,
