Wine Wednesday Recap: Liquid Gold & The Launch of Bacchus AI 🍷
A 100-point allocation of the "undisputed king" of dessert wine and the official launch of our AI wine agent.
Yesterday, we shifted our focus to the legendary Château d’Yquem. Joining us from Barcelona, Dave helped break down the extraordinary craftsmanship behind the only Premier Cru Supérieur in history and the launch of the first Bloomberg Terminal for Wine.
If you missed the livestream, here is the recap of the 2021 release and the tools now available to manage your cellar 👇
The Icon: Château d’Yquem 2021
Yquem stands alone in the wine world, defined by a level of concentration and precision that is arguably unparalleled.
The “Noble Rot”: We explored the magic of Botrytis cinerea, a beneficial fungus that punctures grape skins to dehydrate them and concentrate sugars into a luscious nectar.
Berry-by-Berry Selection: Unlike standard harvests, Yquem pickers pass through the vineyard multiple times to hand-select individual berries at their peak of botrytis.
The 2021 Vintage: Despite a challenging growing year, the wine has emerged as a 100-point masterpiece, noted for its zesty orange peel, jasmine tea, and honeycomb aromas.
The Tech: Bacchus AI is Officially Live 🤖
David shared the details on our newest launch: Bacchus. Originally an internal tool for tokenization, it has evolved into a sophisticated AI wine agent.
Bacchus evaluates your portfolio, tracks market values, and can even source and ship rare bottles globally while managing international customs forms.

The Drop: 2021 d’Yquem (Half Bottles) 🚨
Member allocations for the 2021 vintage were released yesterday in an extremely limited capacity - make sure to claim your bottles!
The Format: We selected 375ml half bottles, which provide the ideal serving size for a dessert wine of this intensity.
The Aging Advantage: Smaller formats reach maturity sooner due to the higher oxygen-to-wine ratio, allowing collectors to enjoy the wine’s peak saturation sooner.
Direct Provenance: Sourced direct from the estate, these bottles include one year of free storage at Bordeaux City Bond for all members.
